Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Independent Recruiter to support our recruitment efforts across the United States and be available as needed for specific periods of time as an independent contractor.  Our most immediate need is for experienced recruiters within the Roofing / Construction industry space. However, we also support recruitment efforts for administrative, technical and leadership roles.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has 3+ years of recent sourcing & recruiting experience, ideally within roofing, construction, skilled trades, project management, or other blue-collar industries.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of current recruitment practices, guidelines and regulations within various states, including California.
  • Is self-motivated, organized, and reliable with a strong sense of accountability and communication.
  • Excels in passive and active sourcing using platforms like Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, social media, and referral networks.
  • Experienced in coordinating with multiple stakeholders (HR reps, hiring managers, operations teams).
  • Thrives in a remote environment and is comfortable managing multiple open roles at once.
  • Has an established home office setup with reliable internet, a dedicated computer, and professional phone access to ensure smooth communication and productivity in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR site leads and hiring managers to identify hiring needs and job requirements.
  • Create, post, and manage job advertisements across various platforms.
  • Actively source candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, social media, and industry forums.
  • Screen resumes and conduct phone or video interviews to assess candidate fit.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews with site HR, hiring leads, and department managers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all candidate activities and communication within our HRIS / ATS platform (BambooHR).
  • Provide timely updates and reports to the internal team regarding recruiting efforts.
  • Represent our company professionally and maintain a strong focus on candidate experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Recruiter (either agency, in-house, or freelance).
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment tools, job boards, and sourcing strategies.
  • Prior experience recruiting in construction, roofing, skilled trades, or project management is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working independently as a 1099 contractor with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy with experience using ATS tools (BambooHR, Workable, etc., a plus).
  • Able to work flexible hours and adjust to project-based timelines.
