Job Summary:

Santa Rosa’s premier residential construction services company is searching for a Sr. Accountant. Our employees are the heart of our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting including managing the general ledger and monthly financial statements. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall general ledger maintenance.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable and vendor activity.
  • Maintain a healthy accounts receivable process.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax filings and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Group Controller and CFO to implement the best accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Assist in the development of processes and procedures to properly capture, track, and report revenue in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Perform any additional duties and/or special projects as requested by the Group Controller or CFO.
  • Process all commissionable agents’ commissions in a timely manner, notify concerned agents upon processing, and maintain accurate records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (or similar discipline) preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and report preparation.
  • Industry experience in construction, roofing, or related trade services preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
  • Experience in job costing for construction-related accounting.
  • Ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders and effectively collaborate across departments.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adjust to shifting priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Position is on-site in an office environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when necessary to support business needs.
  • Sitting and Standing: Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and occasionally stand or walk to access different areas of the office.
  • Keyboard and Mouse Usage: Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse for data entry and document creation.
  • Light Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying of light items such as files, papers, or small office supplies.
  • Reaching: Ability to reach for items on desks or shelves.
  • Vision: Good close vision to view computer screens clearly.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Dexterity in hands and fingers for operating office equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
